a short journey from Ho Chi Min City to Hanoi left me hungry for more.
The contemporary art world there swamped by imitation and mimicry is
actually very healthy and friendly. Ive planted seeds in both these
cities regarding the possiblitiy of group shows including both
Vietnamese and Melbourne artists. Late 2001 will see the outcome if all
goes as planned. At the moment Ive relocated to Bangkok - the the
guesthouse of Charlee Sodprasert who is a local watercolour artist as
well as a very charming guy. He has small studios ann rooms for renin a
very quietpart of dizzy Bangkok.I can recommend them highly. (Tel:

with drawings and preperations for the Hong Kong show in early Jan. I
will also eat huge quantities of green paw paw salad.

my exhibition here in Phnom Penh is almost over. Baggage was well
recieved by expats and Khmers locals. Next jump is to Vietnam for a
short vist to observe the contempory art world there. Saigon (Ho Chi
Minh City) and Hanoi will be my 2 stops. I may work on the group of
Arranged Landscape Marriage drawings while im moving otherwise next
studio base will be in Bangkok during December. Turkey stuffed with
lime juice, lemon grass and coriander???

The exhibition at Bellas Gallery Brisbane has ended and I'm currently
preparing for my exit to Cambodia on Saturday 30th. sep. The Mobile
studio is crammed into the rucksack and i have begun working on the ink
drawings to be exhibited in the Foreign Correspondents Club of
Cambodia. Unfortunately Peter Walsh the painter will not accompany me
on this trip as he is too busy in Melbourne. I believe that parts of
Cambodia are badly flooded due to a very early wet season but Phnom
Penh is not too bad i have been told. we shall see.
